Conroe ISD Sets COVID Policies for the 2021-22 School Year
In a board of trustees meeting held on July 20, Conroe ISD presented an updated plan to return the district to in-person classroom instruction. The Roadmap for Remaining Open states their new COVID-19 policies provides recommendations for students and faculty, as well as ways that our schools will be better protected against the spread of coronavirus.
The 2021-2022 school year will have 100% in-person teacher-student instruction, and masks will not be required for anyone on Conroe ISD campuses. Keep in mind, CISD will be providing masks free of charge for those who chose to wear them.
CISD said that they cannot prohibit students who test positive for COVID-19 from coming to school, however, they strongly recommend students who do test positive should stay home. According to student health guidelines that were in place before the pandemic, a child cannot come to school if they are running a fever higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
One of the biggest differences for CISD is that there will be no virtual learning options offered this year, but officials have said that may be subject to change pending how the school year goes and the state of the pandemic.
