Conroe ISD Updates Plans For Reopening
Conroe ISD has revealed the plans for district reopening for the 2020-21 school year. CISD plans to offer both a remote learning option or in-person instruction. The district emphasizes that all plans continue to be dynamic and dependent on updated guidelines. There is discussion regarding moving the first three weeks to online learning depending on COVID-19 curve.
Parents are asked to choose which learning option they would like for their student by July 28. Students will have the opportunity to switch learning modalities after the first 9 weeks if requested.
CISD’s in-person instruction will follow all local, state and federal health guidelines. Students and staff will be required to wear masks, buildings will have hand sanitizer stations, and high-contact areas will be cleaned frequently. Social distancing measures will be taken on all campuses.
CISD’s remote learning will be very different than what the student’s saw this past spring. The remote learning will be a combination of self-paced learning and real-time virtual classes with other students and teachers. Remote learning students will be able to participate in extracurricular activities provided they have their own transportation.
