Exxon Mobil Corp. Confirms New Office Campus Near The Woodlands
Exxon Mobil Corp. confirmed Tuesday it will construct a large office campus near The Woodlands for employees currently working across the Houston area.
Bryan Milton, president of Exxon Mobil Global Services Co., sent an internal memo to all U.S. based employees saying the new campus will be built on 385 acres near the intersection of Interstate 45 and the Hardy Toll Road.
“Moves to the campus will be carried out in phases as the campus is constructed, beginning early 2014, with full occupancy by 2015,” Milton said in the memo. “Houston-based employees working in upstream, chemicals and various staff support functions will move to the campus in that time frame.”
Irving-based Exxon (NYSE: XOM) conducted a study of its U.S. real estate needs, which ultimately led to the construction project. The company is still examining whether employees will be relocated to Houston from elsewhere in the country, the memo stated. Sources say Exxon employees from Fairfax, Va., will be joining their local counterparts at the new complex.
Exxon’s campus will include multiple low-rise office buildings, laboratory, conference and training facilities, restaurants, child care facility, wellness center and retail space.
