"Just because you have an economy that struggles doesn't mean the housing market everywhere is going to struggle. You have varying reactions in the Houston submarket," said Sam Yager III, developer of newly completed Harper's Preserve in The Woodlands.
This summer, Yager had a grand opening for the 800-acre development.
The project has space for 1,700 homes ranging in price from $170,000 to $300,000.
Yager said most areas around Houston have not had the success The Woodlands has in the residential market because the township continues to be a place where people desire to work and live.
