Save The Date: Conroe ISD’s District Art Show and Hats Off to Reading Festival
These next few days will be a bit busy for the community of Harper’s Preserve!
Conroe ISD is hosting their annual District Art Show tomorrow, Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The DAS has been a memorable event for children and adults alike. Parents get a first-hand look at what their children are learning in art class at all grade levels, and experience the progression of art skill throughout the school district. Since the very first DAS, Conroe ISD has seen incredible turnouts and is determined to continue the tradition. This show recognizes students who have added amazing value to the culture for the arts within the school district. Conroe ISD’s Fine Arts Department has selected numerous works of art to be displayed for this year’s exhibit, and parents have been notified if their student’s work was chosen.
This event is open to the public and will take place in the Deane L. Sadler Administration Building at 3205 West Davis across from Conroe High School.

To celebrate the written word, the Hats Off to Reading Festival will be held at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on September 11, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. followed by the Symphony of Heroes Concert at 7:30 p.m. by the Houston Symphony. This will be a fun event to get kids excited for reading. The written word is more important now than ever with acronyms and lingo constantly changing. Reading sets the foundation for great writing, and in turn, great communication skills, which is crucial for kids’ long-term success.
The concert following the festival will commemorate the heroes America lost during the significant event of September 11, 2001. The community of Harper’s Preserve would like to encourage families to attend this event as a way to educate children about the importance of this date.
