The Texas Education Agency’s state financial accountability rating is also known as School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas). The mission of this rating system is to “ensure that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve those practices.” The district’s ratings are determined by 15 indicators and a “complete annual financial report which has been reviewed by an external independent auditor.” Conroe ISD received a score of 100 and passed with flying colors.
