Work was completed in late April on a new facility at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion that will house an ice rink during the winter season. For the rest of the year, the space will be used by the pavilion as an event center, and the House of Blues Lounge will open inside the facility an hour before and close an hour after most Live Nation events. The ice skating season will typically begin around Thanksgiving and end as early as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The Woodlands will be home to Copa Rayados Internacional, a boys’ youth soccer tournament held from Nov. 23-27, which is estimated to bring in more than 5,000 participants. The four-day event for the next three years will take place at the Bear Branch, Gosling and Alden Bridge sports complexes. last year’s tournament had 275 total participating teams, 95 of which were international coming from various countries including Guatemala, Ecuador, Brazil and the Caribbean.

On Saturday, June 11th, Harper's Preserve hosted A Taste of Summer event, celebrating the Grand Opening of the new East Village sections of this Conroe area master-planned community.

Residential growth throughout the Conroe area continues to attract large-scale commercial and mixed-use development to the I-45 corridor. Projects such as the 750,000-square-foot 336 Marketplace and the 115-acre Conroe Waterfront Center along I-45 are among several major commercial tracts of land under development in Conroe. Once complete, the projects are expected to include retail and dining establishments as well as multifamily housing and hotel, office and medical space.

Harper's Preserve hosted a complimentary Continuing Education Class, Legal Update II, on Tuesday, June 7th in the Drees Custom Homes Model Home for area Realtors taught by Rob Cook.
