Santa Makes a Stop in Harper’s Preserve

Harper’s Preserve residents enjoyed an early visit from Santa Claus on Saturday, December 5th, 2015.

 

From 1 to 4 pm, over 200 residents enjoyed free photos with Santa, gourmet holiday treats, hot chocolate and apple cider in the Harper’s Preserve West Village Pool Barn and registered for a chance to win a door prize from Chesmar Homes, Highland Homes, Plantation Homes, Ashton Woods Homes, Drees Custom Homes and Gehan Homes.

 

Trick or Treat Trail kicks off Halloween festivities in The Woodlands Oct. 26

Pirates, princesses, ghosts and goblins are invited to Town Green Park and The Woodlands Waterway for a spook-tacular good time at the 5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital and produced by The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau, on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Trick or Treat Trail brings out families for trick or treating, vendor booths, children’s activities, costume contests, games and more. Festivities will be held in Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, and along The Woodlands Waterway.

The Original Halloween SpookTacular hosted at The Woodlands Children’s Museum

Looking for a great place to take your little ghouls, goblins, princesses and fairies this Halloween?

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is preparing the ultimate party – without anything scary.

The museum will be closed during the day on Friday, Oct. 31 to prepare for the popular event.

Then, at 4 p.m., staff will unveil the many child-friendly games, art projects and activities awaiting guests. Games will include Pin-the-Bowtie on the Skeleton, Dodging Donuts, Monster Ring Toss, Slimy Science and more.

Plans in the works for 40th anniversary celebration

The Woodlands Township is planning a celebration for The Woodlands’ 40th anniversary. The community was officially established on Oct. 19, 1974, and a celebration is planned for the weekend of Oct. 18–20.

Nick Wolda, director of community relations for the township and president of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau, presented the township board with possibilities for a 40th anniversary event. 

Possible celebration activities include community and family friendly events at either Northshore Park or Rob Fleming Park. 

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival coming this weekend

See The Woodlands Waterway® transformed into a magnificent outdoor art gallery at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, set for Saturday, April 12 from 10 am – 7 pm and and Sunday, April 13 from 10 am – 5 pm. Ranked #1 in Texas and #3 in the U.S. by Art Fair SourceBook, this juried art show features over 200 fine artists displaying their original artwork along The Waterway and in Town Green Park in The Woodlands Town Center. Tickets for the festival are $12 per adult or $15 for a weekend pass. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

Festival of Music

Guests are invited on December 22, 2013 to a Festival of Music. Celebrate Advent and Christmas with a cantat and a broad range of music including a choir and instruments. Worship times are 8:30 a.m., 9:50 a.m. and 11 a.m., and free child care is available. Lord of Life is centrally located in the The Woodlands off Woodlands Parkway and Panther Creek Drive, across from McCullough Junior High School. 24th Annual GE Run Thru the Woods

A holiday tradition in The Woodlands Town Center, the annual Thanksgiving Day Run Thru the Woods Sponsored by GE and Directed by the South Montgomery County YMCA, is a race/walk designed for all ages and levels of fitness. This year marks the event’s 24th year as one of Texas’ premier running and walking family events. The 2013 event which should attract more than 6000 participants is both a family event and a serious running event, enticing for the competitive racer, weekend warrior, recreational runner, kids and walkers.
