The Woodlands Craft Beer & Music Festival is the event of the summer, showcasing the area’s best music and promoting over 40 breweries, with promotional samples of over 80 different craft beers from around Texas and the rest of the world. The event takes place Saturday September 3rd, 2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.  For more information, visit here.

Two local non-pro organizations will team up for a food fair in The Woodlands on August 27th The event will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on at Woodforest Stadium, 19115 David Memorial Drive, in Shenandoah. No pre-registration or prerequisites are required. Food insecure families will be able to collect 150-200 lbs. of free food at an upcoming event. The Montgomery County Food Bank in partnership with the Junior League of the Woodlands is sponsoring the fair.

Houston Restaurant Weeks, the single largest fundraiser in the United States benefiting the largest food bank in America, returns August. 1 and runs through Labor Day, September. 5. Last year’s event raised a record breaking $1.9 million for the Houston Food Bank. Houston Restaurant Weeks has raised over $7.6 million for the Houston Food Bank. This has enabled the Food Bank to provide almost 23 million meals for Houstonians who are food insecure.

Spring resident Simone Biles said goodbye today to instructors and students at her family’s gymnastics facility as she prepares to head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 26 to compete as part of the U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics team. At least 46 of Biles’ family members from around the country plan to travel to Rio to watch the competition, said Adam Biles, Simone’s brother and general manager of the family-owned World Champions Centre gym on Birnham Woods Drive.
