Dragon Boat Races

More than 100 teams will compete for four days for the coveted stuffed dragon at The Woodlands Family YMCA’s 20th annual Dragon Boat Team Challenge at North Shore park from Sept. 27 to 30. The races are organized in heats, with 16 teams racing in one of seven brackets throughout the weekend. Though there aren’t any public activities, the community is welcomed to watch the races that begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. the rest of the three days.

Halloween Movie Night in Harper's Preserve

Don't be scared! Join us for the Harper's Preserve Halloween Movie Night on Saturday, October 27th!

Join your neighbors for a frightfully fun evening at the pool barn. We will have a scary movie on the lawn, Halloween games including pumpkin rolling and witches broom limbo, glow necklaces,  popcorn and more!

There will be a costume parade, so be sure to wear your costumes!

The featured movie is Coco.

The event starts at 5 pm with the movie start time at 6:45 pm.

Fieldings Shakes it Up!

The next time you are wondering where to go on date night, check out Fielding’s Wood Grill as they offer a spin on its milkshakes by combining alcohol and housemade gelato in a variety of options for customers. Take the most popular milkshake on the menu-- $9 bourbon caramel milkshake, which is made with Buffalo Trace Kentucky bourbon, toffee, gelato and handspun to order. There is also the Oreo s’mores milkshake and the horchata milkshake, to name a few.

House of Pies Set to Open

The long-awaited House of Pies Restaurant & Bakery will open its fourth location Oct. 15 in the former location of Black-eyed Pea, at 1330 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands. The Houston-based restaurant offers more than 40 types of pies and cakes, in addition to a lunch and dinner menu that features sandwiches, soups, salads, chicken plates and steaks. The bakery is known for being open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at its three other locations.
