The Westin Hotel on Waterway scheduled to open mid-February

Construction on the Westin Hotel on The Woodlands Waterway is coming to a close, as the hotel prepares to open near the middle of February. Featuring over 300 rooms and located in the heart of the Woodlands' business district, the hotel will be managed by both Howard Hughes Hospitality and The Woodlands Resort. Amenities will include a gym, pool, massage services, "CURRENT" restaurant, bar and even a Starbucks.

Conroe ISD honors individuals with Ambassador Awards

Conroe ISD recently recognized numerous students within the district with the Conroe ISD Ambassador Award, which honors individuals for positive contributions they have made in their school, district and community. Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton and Ray Sanders, Board member, visited various campuses within the district to distribute the awards. Students, educators and paraprofessionals were among the individuals honored.

Lone Star College-Creekside Center ribbon cutting set for Jan. 15

Lone Star College-Creekside Center, located at 8747 West New Harmony Trail in The Woodlands, will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. in the main lobby. LSC-Creekside officially opened last December; the event on Friday will serve as the ceremonial opening and dedication of this state-of-the-art facility. Local political dignitaries as well as Lone Star College administrators will be in attendance.

Market Street announces 2016 Change for Charity beneficiaries

Each year, Market Street chooses several non-profit charities to benefit from the change inserted into the parking meters in a program called "Change for Charity." This year, Market Street has chosen Lone Star Animal Welfare League, the United States Veterans Initiative, Bikers Against Child Abuse and The Will Herndon Research Fund to benefit from the Change for Charity Program.
