Harper's Preserve residents are invited to enjoy an All American BBQ on Saturday, July 5th, sponsored by Harper's Preserve Property Owner's Association.

The event will feature a bike parade along Harper's Way at 5 pm. Participants should arrive at Preserve Park by 4:45 pm.

BBQ and picnic style sides will be served at the Pool barn at 5:30 pm. Bring your favorite baked good for a chance to win the bake off!

The Woodlands Township is planning a celebration for The Woodlands’ 40th anniversary. The community was officially established on Oct. 19, 1974, and a celebration is planned for the weekend of Oct. 18–20.

Nick Wolda, director of community relations for the township and president of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau, presented the township board with possibilities for a 40th anniversary event. 

Possible celebration activities include community and family friendly events at either Northshore Park or Rob Fleming Park. 

Harper's Preserve hosted a complimentary continuing education TREC Legal Update course for area Realtors taught by Dave Roedel on Friday, May 9th. Area Realtors enjoyed breakfast, lunch and a chance to win door prizes compliments of the builder's in Harper's Preserve Highland Homes and Plantation Homes. The fourth annual Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas is scheduled for May 17, 2014 in The Woodlands. TWE! is excited that World Triathlon Corporation has selected The Woodlands for its Ironman Texas event as this world-class event is expected to bring major international exposure to The Woodlands as well as extended recognition for the surrounding community. The Woodlands is also host to several other annual sporting including Run Thru The Woods, 10 For Texas, The Muddy Trails 5K, The Woodlands Marathon, the CB&I Triathlon, as well as a wide assortment of festivals, concerts, and more.

State Highway 242 (College Park Drive) will experience some Road/Lane Closures as the county installs the new 242 flyover:

SH 242: Westbound from S. Trade Center Blvd to IH 45. All lanes will be closed continuously from 5:00 am, Saturday, May 10, 2014 through 5:00 am, Monday, May 12, 2014. Detour signage will be posted and law enforcement officers will be on site. Detour route will use S. Trade Center Blvd., Harpers Landing, IH 45 to FM 1488, back to SH 242 on Southbound IH 45.
