Conroe ISD was one of many school districts making plans for the possibility of maintaining a virtual school for their students, this next school year. 
 
When the 87th Texas State Legislature’s session came to a close on May 31st, they did not pass the bill which would have funded virtual learning programs for school districts across the state. 
 
Plans for CISD’s virtual school program have been put on hold, but the district said they would be sharing new information as it becomes available. 
 

Spring Harvest TX is the brainchild of spouses and co-owners Rene Vasquez and Rick Holland. They just launched their business this past spring, in which they grow and deliver nutrient-packed microgreens to their customers and fans in the Greater Houston Area. 
 

COVID-19 caused many businesses to shut down and close in March of last year. Performing arts groups were one of the many groups and businesses that were put on indefinite hold. All in an instance, performer, director, and producer jobs ground to a halt. 

 

Even when restrictions began lifting, local theater companies made a pledge to keep the social circles small, lowering the total attendance cap for shows and events. In mid-to-late 2020, The Owen Theatre in downtown Conroe only opened its doors at 50% capacity. 

 

Market Street recently released exciting news that Sweetgreen will be opening at Market 9595 Six Pines Drive, The Woodlands on May 25th.

Mask Update: Effective June 1

Starting June 1st, Conroe ISD will be recommending masks for staff and their students, but they will be making masks and facial coverings optional. The school district is still observing their community’s rate of COVID-19 vaccinations and seeking guidance from public health officials on whether they will continue this optional mask policy through the 2021-2022 school year.
