In celebration of the holiday season, The Woodlands Children’s Museum presents “The Mitten” by Jan Brett. The interactive production follows young Nicki who loses the white mittens his grandmother knitted him while playing in the snow. The family-friendly show is on Friday, December 30th from 11-11:30 a.m. The production will take place in the Storybook Theatre and the show is free with admission to the museum. A very special thank you to all the residents of Harper's Preserve who donated items for our annual Star of Hope Holiday drive. Representatives from Sam Yager Inc. Development delivered all the items to the Star of Hope Family Center today. A Star of Hope official said many of the woman and children who come to the center for help often do so with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, so your thoughtfulness in sharing with these people truly in need of help is very appreciated.

Governor Rick Perry will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2017 Economic Outlook Conference. The conference will take place January 27 of next year and the theme for the event is “Fully Charged: Moving Forward.” For over three decades the conference has provided insight on the growth of the Texas economy. The conference, hosted by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

Harper's Preserve hosted the community’s annual Santa Stop event on Saturday, December 10th. 
Guests were invited to the Harper’s Preserve West Village Recreation Center for free photos with Santa Claus, gourmet hot beverages by Java Pura and holiday sweets and treats.

Several families also brought unwrapped toys to donate to the Star of Hope toy drive.
